Do you know what Subfloors do you have in your home?

  • 0%Slab

  • 0%Plywood

  • 0%Raised Foundation (2x6)

  • 0%Douglas Fir

Now, you would be surprised what lays under your Floors. It isn’t all the time sturdy foundation. Especially if your floor squeaks, which believe me thay when I say it shouldn’t. If it does, it is due to a variety of reasons: for example, if you have Plywood subfloor nailed over joists, then over time due to expansion and contraction that happens naturally in wood, creates space for moist to get in between the nail and holes. Of course, professionals know that, and would prevent that from happening any where near the future for you. The reason I bring this up, is because in this Photo attached to this post, I wanted to show you how interesting and creative engineers get. As you can clearly see plywood has been laid out, this is 3/4” plywood laid accross on top of another layer of 3/4” plywood, which sits on top of humongous Cement Foundation, of course with a moisture barrier in between. Could be a little pricey, but worth it? Hell yes. This house is going to have different styles of Parquet installed, and I wish you would stay tuned to see how it looks now, vs how this is going to look a fee momtjs from today ;). Stay sharp, and make your home feel like HOME.
